Detroit filmmaker Jacob Hurwitz-Goodman spent more than two years embedded with the urban paramilitary group VIPERS, whose stated mission is to protect Detroit citizens from predators. VIPERS stands for Violence Intervention Protective Emergency Response System, and members of the group have worked all over the city, the nation, and the world. Detroit Threat Management is the chronicle of VIPERS, the people who join it, the man who leads them, and the city from which they have sprouted to fill a gap in public service.
Jacob will be on hand after the screening to answer questions about the film.
