Fresh from South by Southwest, and Certified Fresh at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, Adult Beginners is a hilarious take on the coming-of-age tale, featuring an amazing cast. Jake (Nick Kroll), a hipster entrepreneur, crashes and burns on the eve of his startup’s big launch. With his entire life in disarray, he leaves Manhattan to move in with his estranged pregnant sister Justine (Rose Byrne), her husband Danny (Bobby Cannavale), and their three-year-old son Teddy (Metro Detroit natives Matthew and Caleb Paddock). City slicker Jake is visibly uncomfortable in the suburbs, where he is forced to sleep on an air mattress and become Teddy’s nanny.
Faced with real responsibility for the first time in his shallow life, Jake may finally have to grow up — but not without some bad — and hilarious — behavior first. Adult Beginners was produced by the Duplass brothers (The Skeleton Twins, The One I Love) and also features a solid supporting cast, including Joel McHale and Jane Krakowski.
