French Food & Film - Happy 315th Detroit - Sat July 23

Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac founded Fort Pontchartrain, later known as “Ville de Troit,” then the City of Detroit — on July 24, 1701, and the continent has never been the same.

On July 23, 2016 — the eve of Detroit’s 315th birthday — Cinema Detroit will celebrate with French food and film! Enjoy made-to-order savory and sweet crepes by The French Cow Pop Up Crepes. Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options will all be available.

Then experience The Intouchables, an irreverent and uplifting comedy about friendship, trust, and human possibility, on our big screen. Based on a true story of friendship between a millionaire who is a quadriplegic (played by Francois Cluzet) and his street smart ex-con caretaker (Omar Sy), the film depicts an unlikely camaraderie rooted in honesty and humor between two individuals who, on the surface, would seem to have nothing in common.

In the spirit of the occasion, we’ll also have some French-themed surprises😉

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for crepes. Movie will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and include two crepes, one savory and one sweet, plus admission to the film. Our usual concessions will also be available. Tickets are available at the CD box office or online at bit.ly/CDTickets.
